Newest jobs report show hiring fell below economists' expectations, unemployment going up

Dress for Success Triangle client Corinne Scott was recently featured on ABC11, sharing her story of career transition during a broader segment on the state of hiring across North Carolina. After working in the non-profit sector, Corinne set her sights on a new path in the security industry. She turned to Dress for Success Triangle for support, using resources including resume building and interview preparation to help her land the role last year. By June, she had already earned a promotion.

“Dress for Success enabled me to boost up my skills, to actually market myself and put myself in a better position to be able to be promoted,” Corinne shared.

Her story was part of a larger ABC11 report on the latest jobs data, which showed hiring nationally falling short of expectations in August. Corinne’s journey offered a personal, local example of what career resilience looks like even in a shifting job market. Read the full ABC11 story here.
