Shortly before Hurricane Maria devastated Puerto Rico, Lymari made the difficult decision to move to North Carolina in search of new opportunities for herself and her two young daughters. While she arrived with hope, starting over came with significant challenges. Her college degree was not widely recognized, she faced a language barrier and cultural adjustment, and finding reliable childcare made pursuing employment even more difficult.

After seeking assistance from several agencies without finding the support she needed, Lymari began to feel discouraged. Everything changed when she connected with Dress for Success Triangle.

Building Skills, Confidence, and a Career

Through Dress for Success Triangle, Lymari received one on one career coaching to strengthen her resume, improve her interview skills, and develop a clear strategy for her job search. She also participated in career development webinars and received image coaching, helping her prepare professionally for interviews while rebuilding her confidence.

The organization’s welcoming, women centered approach and supportive community gave Lymari more than practical career tools. It gave her confidence, encouragement, and meaningful connections that expanded her opportunities.

Building a Brighter Future

Today, Lymari has been a K through 12 Spanish teacher for the past five years. She has built a fulfilling career, regained her confidence, and is proud to contribute to her community while serving as a role model for her daughters. Through the support, training, and resources she found at Dress for Success Triangle, Lymari achieved financial independence and discovered a renewed sense of purpose.
