Volunteer Training Sessions
This training is for all volunteers who want to learn more about Dress for Success Triangle NC, our mission and programs, the various volunteer roles we offer, and how to get involved.
Because of a great need, we currently have some sessions just for those interested in career coaching on weekdays in Durham, and then general sessions for those interested in all volunteering roles (also including career coaching in Durham too). For the general sessions, the first hour of training will be an overview of our mission, programs, and volunteer opportunities, and second and third hours are dedicated to specific information on image and career coaching with our clients.

Our Volunteer Roles
Become a Coach
We need coaches who work directly with a woman to support, advise and encourage her during her job search. Must be 23 years old to volunteer.
As an Image Coach you will help a woman choose a professional outfit for her interviews and/or place of employment that will boost her self-confidence. For a detailed description of an Image Coach click here.
As a Career Coach you will help a woman develop or edit her resume and cover letter for the job she is seeking and help prepare her for interviews. Basic computer skills are required. For a detailed description of a Career Coach click here.
Our coaches are key to the success of our clients and organization. Most volunteers work one three hour shift a week, two shifts a month, or one Saturday a month. If you would like to become a coach we require that you attend a volunteer training session (see above to sign up) and shadow an experienced coach.
Our Boutique Sales are fund-raising events where people shop for a cause. We need volunteers to assist with store preparation, customer service and operation of the store. No prior training is required. Minimum age is 18 years old or 13 with a parent/guardian.
Our next sale will be June 14th-16th in Raleigh, to see when we need help and sign up click here.
Donation Center Specialist
Work in our Durham or Raleigh donation centers to sort, tag, and organize clothing donations. Help make sure we have gorgeous clothes to empower our clients.
Represent Dress for Success Triangle NC at outreach events throughout the community to educate potential clients and volunteers on the services we offer.
We host two major fundraisers a year, our Celebrate Success Gala at the Angus Barn in March and our Women Making Change luncheon at the Embassy Suites in Cary in September. Committee members serve in the capacity that best matches their skills, interests and time limitations.
