Position Summary

The Marketing and Development Associate reports to the Assistant Director of Marketing and Development. The person in this role produces communication campaigns across all print and digital platforms with the goal of providing compelling messaging to the organization’s stakeholders that is consistent with affiliate/marketing objectives. All communications will meet marketing brand standards set by Dress for Success Worldwide. This person also provides technical, administrative and logistic support for events and donor relations.

Position Description

Business Development and Marketing Communications:

Responsible for communications to stakeholders which include donors, event guests, volunteers, clients, boutique sale customers, suppliers and the public.

  • Maintain a communications calendar with timelines and deliverables that aligns with the stakeholder’s strategy.

  • Develop communications focusing on branding, design, and messaging.

  • Responsible for writing and editing social posts, newsletters, email campaigns, online auction and sale item descriptions, client stories, program messaging for webinars and websites, organization and event presentations, and press releases.

  • Responsible for graphic design of all communications and signage for events, boutique sales, donor campaigns, and program, volunteer and donation center flyers, one-pagers, and signs.

  • Responsible for creating and/or selecting appropriate images to complement the design of all digital and print content.

    Event Management:

    Responsible for providing the technical and administrative support to create and promote the event as well as ensuring the guest experience on our digital platforms is seamless.

  • Create events on the OneCause platform for ticket sales, raffle sales, donations, and sponsorship sales.

  • Work with the on-site AV team to determine the tech needs so that we can run the event presentations seamlessly.

  • Responsible for working with the event photographer and/or videographer to retrieve content for post-event usage.

  • Responsible for the creation of on-site content for social media

  • Support event day registration and guest experience with communications.

  • Create guest surveys.

  • Create survey analysis for the event committee.

  • Admin support for events.

    Online Sales and Auctions:

    Responsible for the creation, customer experience and tracking of online sales and auctions through the OneCause platform.

  • Responsible for item research which includes authenticating items, pricing and product description and measurements.

  • Manage the photography and images of items.

  • Responsible for organization and management of items.

  • Input item information into OneCause.

  • Track sales and provide updates to the development team.

  • Track purchases and payments.

  • Responsible for all purchaser communications and distribution of items.

    Donor Data Entry, Acknowledgement & Reporting

    Support the development team’s donor processes

  • Gather donor data from various donation portals.

  • Log donations into donation spreadsheet.

  • Enter donor data into Salesforce system and produce reports.

  • Create and produce acknowledgement letters weekly.

Responsible for implementation and completion of ad hoc tasks and projects as needed.

What we are looking for:

• A bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field.

• 1-2 years of marketing and communications experience.

We offer a competitive salary at $41,000, two weeks paid vacation, 10+2 floating holidays, paid sick time, health insurance and retirement plan. Hybrid work model for flexible work between home and office that includes at least 2 days in the office each week and more during fundraising events and special projects as needed.
